Election Day! Students across the district, both in-person and virtual, participated in mock elections on Election Day. Depending on the grade level and class, voting involved casting votes for the real presidential candidates or for choices such as the Oreo or Chocolate Chip cookie, or the colors blue or red. The exercise fosters an early appreciation of the democratic voting process, towards increasing the likelihood that students will continue to vote when eligible, serving as active participants and leaders in their communities. The young voters pictured are 3-year olds from Ms. Breacher’s PreK3 class at the Linguistic Academy. The results of Ms. Breacher’s class election saw the Chocolate Chip Cookie as the Cookie-Elect!
