Read Across America Spirit Week (Mar. 1-5)

The Linguistic Academy will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America week. Please see below for the dress-up days designated to match various Dr. Seuss books:

  • Monday, March 1: "Oh, the Places You’ll Go!": Wear your favorite college shirt!
  • Tuesday, March 2: Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!: Dress like your favorite Dr. Seuss character!
  • Wednesday, March 3: "Wacky Wednesday": Wear wacky clothes! Wear your hair crazy! Be wacky!
  • Thursday, March 4: Twin Day: Grab a friend and dress up as twins
  • Friday, March 5: "Sleep Book": Wear your favorite school appropriate pajamas!

Get your picture in the yearbook!

Greetings from the Da Vinci Yearbook Team! Lifetouch has partnered with Shutterfly for a program called Snaps @home. This allows for parents to take their student’s portrait or for students to take their own portrait from home. Instructions are available in English and Spanish. It is imperative that parents and students take part in this, as this will be their only opportunity to get student portraits in the yearbook. We are asking that the students choose the “blue” background offered by Lifetouch so that the look of the portraits will be as uniform as possible in the yearbook. Once you complete the necessary steps, we are asking that you send your portraits to an email created by the yearbook teacher specifically for gathering these portraits: melindachanson@yahoo.com When you email the photo to the yearbook teacher, please make sure to include the student’s name how you would like it to appear in the yearbook (last name first, first name last) and their grade level.

VDF Picture Retakes (Feb. 5)/Día de Retoma (5 de febrero)

Vista del Futuro will be having their Picture Day retakes for those who missed the fall picture day or want a retake. Enter through the front gate, slowly drive around the back of the school, and park on the side of the cafeteria. Temperatures will be taken prior to entering the building.

Class shirts available through February 12

A huge congratulations to the winners, Holli Casto, Fátima Garcia, Vanessa Palacios! The shirts are now on sale for $10 (larger sizes $12) and will have a dragon logo on the front, a DV logo on the sleeve, and a grade level number on the back. (Staff shirts have "21" on the back instead of a grade level.) Show your school spirit and help support the Da Vinci International Club by purchasing a shirt!

Place your order by filling out the order form and paying at the front office. Copies of the form are available there. If you are unable to come in person, please contact Mrs. Montes Anchondo to work out an arrangement.
