Da Vinci graduate accepted to Caltech

Sebastian Banuelos wearing a CalTech polo shirtWe’re incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of one of our former Da Vinci students, Sebastian Banuelos, who graduated as the Salutatorian of the Class of 2021. Sebastian’s journey at Da Vinci was nothing short of remarkable. As a QuestBridge scholarship winner, he demonstrated his outstanding dedication to academics and leadership. He was accepted into the prestigious California Institute of Technology (Caltech) to pursue his dreams in Mechanical Engineering.

But that’s not all! Sebastian’s passion for robotics shone brightly during his time at Da Vinci, where he led his team to a remarkable second-place victory in the State competition for several years. Sebastian’s innovative project, “The Speaking Hand,” propelled him and his partner to the Science Fair Competition in College Station, home of Texas A&M, where they received the Community Innovation Award. He also actively participated in InSpiress, Da Vinci’s NASA program, showcasing his commitment to exploring the frontiers of science and innovation.

Sebastian’s journey is a testament to what dedication, passion, and hard work can achieve. We couldn’t be more excited to see where his future in Mechanical Engineering takes him. Keep soaring, Sebastian!
